August 1st. Cousin Barry came to pick me up in his fabulous car to go swimming.

It is so hot here it's hotter than Key West.

I've been digging out my pond so I'll have a place to submerge. I've had fun
swimming in Barry's pond in the garden we built together.

I'm such a mermaid.

My garden is growing well but you have to water like mad. They don't expect rain
again until October!

I've had some Wicked Good sales lately. Susan La Page owner

of Irish Gypsy in PA, bought the most wonderful Tibetan set, I can
barely bear to let it go. Susan has the BEST taste n my work and I
wholeheartedly support her choices. This cuff is a special order I made
for her . Sometimes you have to wait and wait for a special order

This is the necklace to the set she just got, it's made from parts
of a Tibetan saddle ornament . I think it's one of the best sets I ever
did never could figure out how to hang the centerpiece until I found
this wonderful modern chain in the garage and tried it.

Here is another original and wonderful cuff with sea bamboo
and huge chunks of coral.

Speaking of sea bamboo I got an e-mail from m a scientist at NOAH, a
government science branch asking if he could use one of my pieces in their
website. I said sure and asked to see the site and it is great. I never saw
what sea bamboo looked like underwater as I found mine in a plastic bag
at the Louisville Antique Center many long years ago. When I found the
plastic bag of the most wonderful material, shinny white as thou it had been
polished, and with black ends as though it was a spine. I had never seen it
before or after.So when I saw the website and read the story I was thrilled.

Bamboo Corals in North America

What do jellyfish and corals have in common? If you guessed
“stinging cells” you are correct. Jellyfish, anemones, and corals are
all members of the Phylum Cnidaria. Corals and anemones are in
the same class: Anthozoa. Corals are divided into two sub-classes
based on whether they have six or eight tentacles on their polyps.
Corals with eight pinnate tentacles are in the sub-class Alcyonaria.
Of the corals in this sub-class, those with a horny proteinaceaous
skeleton, like a sea fan, are in the Order Gorgonacea. Those corals
from the sub-class Alcyonaria that have a bony skeleton are in the
Order Alcyonacea. Bamboo corals, of the Family Isididae, are
one of the most fascinating families of the Order Alcyonacea.

Bamboo corals are cosmopolitan, meaning they occur in waters
all over the world. They can be very abundant, often dominating
deep sea communities nd forming large, single species fields, meadows,
or stands. Bamboo corals have one of the deepest recorded occurrences
(Keratoisis profunda, 4851m) of all the deep sea corals. Their fleshy
polyps are non-retractile, growing upon a calcareous skeleton alternated
by horny gorgonin nodes. The bony internodes are increasingly used in
jewelry, both in its natural form (bony white), and as a dyed polished form
(pinkish-red).

I love when things sell there that never sold before.

He also ordered an Elvis piece.It's coming out so good.

Another seious wrist collector Cindy from PA , got this gorgeous
cuff on ebay She has dozens of my best 80's pieces in her collection.

I stopped by to visit her when I did a show in Renningers, PA last year.

Oh the garden, the light of my life.

Lilly takes a big stretch. I've painted my front porch turquoise.

My Niece Jaime Lee Gleischer had a hit TV show on MTV this year
called Rich Girls with Ali Hilfiger, Tommy Hilfiger's daughter.

She told me when she goes to all the openings and things that
a 19 year old does in NYC the paparazzi ask her where did
you get your jeweled purse? She's been carrying my jewel decorated
Menudier Purses, she says why my Aunt Wendy made this!

Jaime, the most adorable child I'd ever known, with one of my dolls way back Wen. I googled Jaime and she had thousands of listings just like her
Aunt Wendy!

I plan on doing a Jaime page soon..
