I always loved the name.my father gave me Gell. I looked in up in a 100 year old Oxford English Dictionary once to see the roots of my name and if it had any special meaning for me . I found a wonderful word , out of usage word for a hundred years Gelastic . I Named my Artwork- Gelastic Art.Gelastic means "capable of producing laughter; risible; and healing by laughter." Makes You Laugh and smile! (Gelt/n. slang Yiddish;Money)
I decided to look up my first name too Wendy, though my real first name is Sharon just like Beautiful Sharon Gell my sister in law . So We're both Sharon Gell. Wendy -'Wend', (to turn-to twist-more at Wind): to direct one's course-to proceed on, to turn around, to shift, to change, to alter, to transform. DIRECT. To translate, "to wend ones way". (To Athens shall the lovers wend). To depart, to disappear, to pass away, to vanish. "Great voyages to wend." Surrey.
Wen at the Newport Folk festival 2002 Bob Dylan featured wen n (Old English, joy more at winsome) (before 12c)-a runic letter used in Old English and Middle English to represent the consonant W.
Gel-'gel',- to change into or take on the form of a gel. A colloidal substance in a more solid form than a solution, to congeal. Gelatin-glutinous material, a colloidal protein used as a food, in photography, and in medicine. Gel-a thin colored transparent sheet used over a stage light to color it. (Gelt/n. slang Yiddish;Money) Gelasin, the uplifting muscles in the cheeks that create the smile.
